Product microsite for Lufthansa Technik

The 'nice' in-flight entertainment system from Lufthansa Technik AG is installed in over 1,000 VIP and business jets worldwide. We developed a new product microsite for this market leader that clearly distinguishes it from competitors and highlights the technical excellence of the system.

The challenge

There was no pool of suitable images or texts for the latest version of the 'nice' system. So, a large part of our work involved creating content. First, we came up with an overall concept, including a content strategy. We then produced extensive renderings and image compositions based on existing CAD data.

A smooth experience with React.js

'Nice' stands for strong industrial and user experience design, among other things. We wanted to communicate this strength indirectly through the website's elegant and seamless user interface design. After discussing various tools and development methods, we finally settled on one of the leading web frameworks: the open-source JavaScript library 'React', developed by Facebook.

Having already used React Native for previous app developments, we decided to follow in the footsteps of well-known companies such as Netflix* and Airbnb**.

Design, review, repeat.

One of the key challenges in this project was getting the look right. 'Nice' stands for 'easy to use', and this USP also needed to be conveyed indirectly through the design. After numerous design and review phases, we developed a style that is both purist and technological, and that conveys confidence. This style represents the current generation of the 'nice' system.

Storytelling

Together with our copywriters in Berlin, we have developed a unique storytelling concept that presents the history of the IFE & CMS system without overwhelming users with technical details and feature sets. Instead, visitors are offered an enjoyable introduction to the technical capabilities and innovations of the latest “nice” system products.
